Local-first tools
Merge PDF, Split PDF, Organize PDF, Images to PDF, PDF to JPG, and JPG to PDF run inside the browser. Those files do not need to be uploaded for processing in this MVP.
Privacy & Security
Trust is a product feature, not a footer link.
PDFWhisker clearly labels which tools stay local, which tools use secure server processing, and how ad placement is kept separate from document handling.
Server-side conversions
Compress PDF, Word to PDF, and PDF to Word use server processing. Files are written to temporary storage only for the duration of the job and deleted after completion. PDF to Word may create a temporary OCR step for scanned PDFs, using English recognition only in this release.
Ads and data boundaries
Ad slots are vendor-neutral placeholders in the codebase. PDFWhisker does not send document names, contents, or file metadata to ad vendors.
AI training
Uploaded or locally processed documents are not used for AI training in this MVP.
